From Memory to Memoir:
Writing Your Life History

Summer Session
May 28 thru July 3
Each Wednesday 1-3pm

Greenwood Community Center
55 yrs and older Tuition $30
This is a six week, two hour workshop designed to motivate and assist participates in recording the stories of their lives for their children and grandchildren. During the six-week workshop, participants will look at ways of organizing their life stories for writing; they will share ideas about this topic from current books. The group will also discuss items or articles that stimulate memory and nurture creativity. We will review techniques used in fiction that can enhance their story telling. Each session will begin with a germane topic or with a discussion of the group's progress and problems. Participants will come away with greater writing mastery and a belief in their ability to write their personal narrative. They will be familiar with the process of getting their work self-published in book or journal form. Since this is intended to be an ongoing workshop of six-week sessions with two-week breaks between, participants will have the ability to share their writing and publishing process for as long as they choose.
